i agree with most i might put Chris Robinson of CLintwood as MVP though.
Since the regular season is done in the LPD, I'm going to throw out my personal opinions:
Biggest Disappointment: PV-after listening to the preseason write-ups, this team had a shot at becoming one of PVs greatest.
Biggest surprise: A young Clintwood squad heading to the playoffs.
Most improved: a no-brainer here: The Kelly Indians going from 1-9 to 4-6.
LPD MVP-disagree if you want, but no body means more, does more for his team that PV's Delmas Lawson.
Best Defensive Player: Josh Miles-Burton. Simply dominates his position
Most Versatile: PV's Lawson-slung into the QB role from WR and held his own.
Best Offensive Player: Really don't have a WOW! clearcut standout
Best Punter: JJK's Zak Clifton
Best Kicker: Clintwood's Robbins

Reeking of awesomeness!
good analysis

I wouldn't really consider PV a disappointment, though they couldn't possibly live up to the pre-season hype. Still, some think PV is the odds-on favorite to win the Region this year since Haysi has been on the decline recently. If so, winning a Region D championship couldn't be considered a disappointment any year.
Clintwood is definitely a surprise. After back-to-back losses to Haysi and Appalachia, the season didn't look very good for the Wave. The fact that Clintwood is in the playoffs with a 6-4 season though says as much about the level of competition in the LPD this year as it does about how good the team is.
Appalachia also was a big surprise this year. I don't think many people expected them to be as good as they were.
Lawson and Miles definitely deserve the accolades.

I'm inclined to throw Phillips from Clintwood out there as Defensive Player.
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
CJ Phillips is the MVP of the Clintwood team and I would say the entire Region. He dominates both sides of the ball, and is virtually by himself on defense. Double and triple teamed by every team in every game and still dominates. Without him Clintwood would not be in the position they are now.
It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.

Region D Divison 2 championship game?
This is not wishful thinking but the two teams I think will play for the Region D D2 championship are Powell Valley and Clintwood.
Region D Division 1
That's a rhetorical question there. Appalachia and John I. Burton. I would like to see the Bulldawgs win but I think the Raiders will but this time the score will be more like 21 to 14. Not 47 to 0. If Appy plays the way everyone says they did against PV then it'll be a long game for them.
Deja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull before.
The seedings are not set yet. If Haysi wins Friday then they are the number one seed playing Clintwood. If Haysi loses then PV is the 1 seed playing Clintwood.

I know. But that's how I think it'll end up. Of course Haysi could get upset by Grundy. Doubt it though.

Grundy played a very good Carroll County team tough a couple of weeks ago. This is their last game and they know it so they have nothing to lose.
